Dog Rescue

To attempt to rescue this dog, it cost $50,000, and the ship had sunk by the time they went to get the dog. Why didn't the rescuers allow the owner of the dog to take the dog with him when the humans were rescued?! It would have saved the dog's life---and the $50,000. It makes me sick to think of that poor dog waiting to be rescued, only no rescue ever came. Our animals depend on us for their survival. I'm so sad now. I wish I hadn't read the article.
